Lighting Up Downtown Lincoln: SHOP THE BLOCKS 2025 at the Rococo Theatre

Our giant SHOP THE BLOCKS marquee letters took center stage at the historic Rococo Theatre as hundreds of shoppers came downtown to explore local boutiques, galleries, specialty shops, and more. The glow from the letters matched the energy of the night: bright, welcoming, and full of hometown pride.

A Night Built Around Local Businesses

Shop the Blocks is all about one thing: getting people into locally owned businesses and reminding the community that holiday shopping can happen right here in downtown Lincoln.

For one festive evening, downtown shops stayed open late so guests could browse, mingle, and discover new favorites. Participating businesses included:

Each location brought its own personality to the event with in-store specials, holiday displays, and warm welcomes for shoppers making the rounds with their VIP passports.

The Rococo Theatre as Home Base

The Rococo Theatre (140 N. 13th St.) served as the hub of the evening. Guests checked in, picked up their VIP bags and passports, and planned their personal route through downtown.

After an evening of shopping from 4:30–9:00 p.m., attendees were invited back to the Rococo for an after party complete with raffle opportunities, appetizers, and a cash bar. It felt less like a “shopping event” and more like a community celebration of downtown Lincoln.

VIP Passports, Perks & Prizes

Shop the Blocks isn’t just about checking items off a holiday list; it’s about making the experience fun.

Guests who picked up a VIP passport could:

• Unlock exclusive in-store discounts

• Collect giveaways and treats along the way

• Earn entries for downtown gift card drawings with every qualifying purchase

• Enjoy free pedicab rides between stops

• Join the after party at the Rococo (for Gold-level ticket holders) with even more raffle prizes and hospitality

The passport turned the evening into an interactive downtown adventure, encouraging shoppers to explore new spots and revisit longtime favorites.

Our Role: A Marquee Moment for Downtown Lincoln

For this year’s event, Letter and Light Co. Lincoln brought in our large-scale marquee letters to spell out SHOP THE BLOCKS across the Rococo stage.

The installation served as:

• A high-impact focal point for the event

• A natural photo backdrop for attendees and staff

• A visual reminder of the night’s mission—supporting downtown shops block by block

From the balcony to the back of the room, the warm glow of the letters set the tone for an elevated, city-proud experience. We loved watching guests stop to snap photos in front of the display before heading back out to explore more local businesses.
